Tire Tips

If you think your saving money by buying cheaper tires, you are making a big mistake.  The wrong tires can completely change the way a car drives and handles.

Inflation of tires – A Visual inspection of your tire will indicate if the pressure is low.  Use a tire gauge to check the pressure when the tires are cool.  The correct pressure appears in your owner’s manual.  Under inflated tires will wear faster.  Over inflated tires will affect your handling and might even blow.

Sidewalls – check for cracks or bulges.  If your tires have any of these see your tire dealer immediately.

Tread Wear – check for tread wear by placing a penny in a main groove of your tire showing the least amount of visible tread.  If you see any space between Lincoln’s head the edge of a penny its time for a safety check.
